So you’ve noticed that your cell phone, tablet, or laptop doesn’t quite work as well or quickly as it did when you first got it. Yes this is natural with aging technology, and it could be acting slower for a variety of reasons. Many times when customers bring their phone to Phone Repair Ambulance looking to speed up their cell phone, tablet or laptop, we notice a few recurring reasons why most mobile devices tend to be acting slower. Most of these reasons may be quick and absolutely free to fix, so you can save yourself time and money on you cell phone, tablet, or laptop repair. Check out the following checklist for a jumpstart on speeding up your mobile device.

1. Figure out what is taking up your phone or tablet memory

Both iPhone and Galaxy devices typically offer ways to pinpoint exactly how much memory you are using, and can even show what what is specifically taking up your memory. Find out whether images, videos, or apps are causing your phone to act slower.

2. Delete videos

Videos seem to be the most unexpected culprit when it comes to leeching off your memory. Many times 1 or 2 videos can simply be too much for your overall memory storage, and can directly effect your phone speed.

3. Remove Unnecessary Apps

Although it may be hard to let go of some those apps, they may be causing more damage than help. Overloading your phone with apps can and will slow down your phone over time, so the best option would be to keep your apps to a minimum. Remember, those apps will always be in the app store when you are ready to use them, and your paid apps will usually remain yours as long as you use the same download id.

4. Remove or Shrink Images

Images seem to accumulate unsuspectingly over time, and before you know it, they can become the main reason your phone is not reacting up to par. Instead of storing all those images on your phone try sending them to yourself by email, or uploading them to a computer where they are safer, and more forgiving on your mobile phone’s memory.

5. Delete Old Music

This may be the hardest for some people, but it may make sense to delete some music from your mobile platforms and transfer them to a computer or hard drive in order to free up some memory on your mobile device.

6. Out Of Date Software

Although it may be a nuisance to change the phone software you are already comfortable with, many times those annoying software changes come with fixes for previous phone issues and problems. For any cell phone repair or laptop repair, Phone Repair Ambulance recommends you conduct a software update to ensure any old software issues aren’t the reason you are facing issues with your technology.
